The movie was originally released in 1965 and won 5 Oscars that year, including Best Picture. The film originated from the 1949 autobiography of the real Maria Von Trapp. The seven Von Trapp children were cast by Director Robert Wise as unknowns. The actors were: Charman Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Frederick), Heather Menzies Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright Guillon (Brigita), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl).

Simply put, a movie is a series of shots spliced together in the right sequence. The editor must be able to separate each shot into segments, and piece it back together in the right sequence, while eliminating undesirable scenes. Most editors come with an on board cutter/splicer. You cut the film (usually in the middle of a frame), scrape off the emulsion; apply your cement, and splice.

We have state of the art equipment along with the latest software to accomplish this. There is a lot of the older media out there that can be brought up to today’s technology standards. Alpha DVD Creations can do that.
